Article 3 The Road

This thesis focuses on Deleuze’s Francis Bacon:the Logic of Sensation, after discussing "the third path" of Bacon in Deleuze’s eyes, the details of theoretical sources of this text would be showed. On one hand, this paper tries to find connections between The Logic of Sensation and other works of Deleuze. On the other hand, with the exchange and assistance of theories and works of Nietzsche and Foucault, who definitely shared similar thoughts and opinions with Deleuze, the main concepts of Deleuze" s texts could be explained, especially including the ideas involved in Art Theory and Art History. Thus, the conclusion could be drawn: Deleuze" s concepts, such as "Becoming","Difference","Body" and "Sensation", not only have broken through the grand narratives of Modernism, but also could not belong to the so called Postmodernism. In this way, Deleuze’s "third path", which related to theory and philosophy was built up, just as what Bacon had achieved in art and painting.
