Feng Xuefeng Art Self-discipline View Of Literary Theory Research

FengXuefeng was a famous poet in the history of modern Chinese literary, a Translator on the early Marxist theory of literature and an expert on the study of Lu Xun, as well as a great Marxist literary Theorist of Literature. His theory has very rich content and value. The theory of autonomy of art differs his theory from others’, which is also of great value.Therefore, it is meaningful of re-studying and exploring his theory. At present, academic circles mostly tend to grasp Feng’s theory fully. Some researchers have been doing research on his theory of autonomy of art. However, they lack of systematic research. On the basis of the existing research, this thesis is trying to make a specialized study on his theory of autonomy of art, which is discussed from the following several parts:The first part:The formation and evolution of Feng’s theory of self-discipline on art. This part Outlines the overall change from the theory of heteronomy of art to the theory of autonomy of art from the late20s to the mid50s in the20th century. This part can be divided into three aspects:tendency on heteronomy of art; awakening and the pursuit of stonomy of art; The deepening of autonomy of art and restrictive heteronomy.The second part:study on Feng’s theory of autonomy of art. In this part, we focus on some important problems of internal laws or self-discipline of literature and art and (?)osthetic characteristics in Feng’s theory, mainly including:The relationship between literature and politics; view of art and reality; internal mechanism of literary creation, such as artist’s initiative creation, emotion, imagination and other subjective psychological factors; art to creat a typical image; national form; combination of historic and aesthetics literary criticism.The third part:significances and limitations of Feng’s theory of autonomy of art. In this part, we sum up the significance of Feng’s personality of theory on anti-left, his strong theoretical inclusion and so on. We also discuss the limitations in his theory,such as stress on rationality but underestimating aesthetics.
