English Translation For The New Realistic Novels Is Discussed

In the first part of this thesis, the translation, extracts from the novella Myriads of Arrows through the Heart written by Fangfang, who is a representative writer of Chinese Neo-realism, are translated into English, while the second part, the translating review, based on the translation from the first part, aims at discussing the appropriate translating principles and strategies to be applied in the translation of novels belonging to the Neo-realism in China, characterized by the usage of ordinary language and its concise narrating style. How to preserve the characteristics of language and narration belonging to this school should be regarded as the primary issue to be solved in the discussion of the translating process of novels belonging to this school.
