| Shadow was written by Geling Yan, a contemporary female writer. It is a touching story about the love between a girl and a cat. In this paper, the author illustrates her translation strategy of this short story, that is, producing the original style and feelings of the story in the translated text through functional equivalence in respect of figure of speech as well as equivalent expressions of feelings. Concrete examples are provided in relation to the translation of title, numbers, dialogic language, onomatopoeia and hyperbole. |
