Thanksgiving Characteristics Of Secondary Vocational Students And Relations With Prosocial Tendency To Study

This research started from the view of positive psychology investigated thestudents from vocational education school who are more and more valued by ourcountry. Through questionnaire investigation and sentiments activation experiment,the author explored the applicability of Thanksgiving Inventory (GRAT) andpro-social tendency scale among those vocational school students； the situation ofthe subjects’ trait gratitude and the relationship between their gratefulness andpro-social tendency. And the research results will be presented as following:(1) The experiment of applicability of GRAT and pro-social tendency scaleamong the participants indicated that the exploratory factor analysis and valedictoryfactor analysis of GRAT illustrated there were altogether26questions which were inturn divided into3factors:"gratefulness to other people","simple gratefulness" and"affluence sensation" after GRAT got revised; the results of pro-social tendency scaleexperiment showed that the revised scale consist of16questions which were dividedinto4factors:"altruistic","situational","compliable" and "emotional". Both scales’reliability and validity indicated that they could be applied to testify some relatedresearch on vocational school students.(2) The situation of vocational school students’ trait gratitude is: The level oftrait gratitude is high,and its performance of demographic variables are:①fromgender aspect, female is higher than male in terms of the general gratefulnesssituation or different dimensionality of it;②from major dimension aspect, subjectswho are majoring in nursing and aviation service are higher than other majors;③from student-origin aspect, subjects from rural areas are higher than those urbanstudents in grateful consciousness and tendency;④from the interaction between feesupplement and student-origin aspect, among subjects aging from14to15and18years old and above group, those who are exempted from tuition fee are lower thanthose who have to pay tuition in the respect of grateful consciousness;⑤frompersonal characteristics aspect,introversion or extroversion positively correlate with the situation of individual trait gratitude prominently;while psychoticism or nervousnegatively correlate with individual grateful situation obviously;and introversion orextroversion positively predict individual grateful situation;but psychoticism ornervous negatively predict it.(3) The research on the relationship between vocational school students’gratefulness and pro-social tendency presented that:①Vocational school students’general trait gratitude positively correlate with their general pro-social tendency,andso does different dimensions of gratefulness with equivalent dimensions of pro-socialtendency;individual trait gratitude situation could predict personal pro-socialtendency;"general gratefulness" factor,"simple gratefulness "factor, and "gratefulnessto others" factor can positively predict pro-social tendency;while the functionof"affluence sensation " factor about predicting pro-social tendency is negative.②State gratitude initiation has a strong influence on pro-social behavior tendency.
