Research On The Cognitive Bias Mechanism Of Trait Gratitude And State Gratitude

Gratitude is the hot research problem in the field of positive psychology,which refers to the feeling when individual accept other’s help.With profound gratitude thought in our country,such as:"dripping of grace when yongquan","kindness,be not",etc.But for psychology research of gratitude it has the very big difference with foreign,especially the empirical research on few and far between.Gratitude research can start from two aspects of trait gratitude and state gratitude.Trait gratitude refers to a person has a high Thanksgiving emotional characteristics,he could easily and frequently experience the gratitude.State gratitude is refers to the individual from others help to produce a kind of real-time emotional experience,namely gratitude emotion.So far there are no research using information processing method to explore the trait and state gratitude mechanism.This research in the related and cross sectional study,on the basis of cognitive processing stages of explanation and attention,and memory consolidation.Based on this,this research mainly around the quality state of gratitude and thankfulness to the attention of the bias,memory bias and explain to the three directions,and in three different stages have different cognitive tasks,to explore the characteristics and mechanism of three kinds of cognitive processing bias,which is divided into two parts,the seven experiments.The first part of the experiment around Thanksgiving of cognitive processing bias,research one and research two using the go/nogo paradigm and emotional stroop paradigm,choose different mood word stimulus as experiment material,to compare different qualities college students gratitude on the identification of the reaction time and accuracy of mood word whether there is a difference,whether the word have attention bias to the mood,to examine the trait gratitude in pay attention to the characteristics of the stage.The three parts of speech judgment and free recall task is used to investigate different trait gratitude in the characteristics of mood word on explicit memory.The experiment:the four fuzzy event task ambiguity,at high and low quality interpretation bias characteristics of college students gratitude.Explore high trait gratitude whether individuals tend to the interpretation of the positive bias,and low quality of gratitude group whether individuals tend to explain negative bias.The second part of the state of surrounding gratitude of cognitive processing bias,we induced by college students gratitude emotion to examine whether individuals in terms of cognitive processing a positive bias.Experiment five still based on the emotion stroop paradigm,choose different mood word stimulus as experiment material,to compare state college students gratitude on the identification of the reaction time and accuracy of mood word whether there is a difference,whether the word have attention bias to the mood,to examine state gratitude in pay attention to the characteristics of the stage.Experiment six still use the part-of-speech judgment and free recall task to explore the state of college students gratitude in the characteristics of mood word on explicit memory.Experiment seven using a fuzzy event task ambiguity,inspection status explanation bias characteristics of college students gratitude,investigate whether the state college students gratitude tend to be more positive interpretation bias.Based on the above research,this paper get the following conclusion:(1)high and low trait gratitude individuals produced obvious cognitive bias.Embodied in:on the go/nogo task and emotional stroop task,high trait gratitude groups produced obvious positive attention bias,low trait gratitude individuals produced obvious negative attention bias.In the free recall task,the high trait gratitude individuals produced obvious positive memory bias,while low trait gratitude individuals produced obvious negative memory bias.In fuzzy event interpretation task,high trait gratitude individuals produced significantly positive interpretation of bias,and low trait gratitude individuals produced obvious negative bias.(2)state gratitude individuals produced an obvious positive cognitive bias.For specific performance,in the emotional stroop task,state gratitude group produced an obvious positive attention bias.In the free recall task,there is an obvious positive memory bias.In fuzzy event interpretation task,there is an obvious positive interpretation of bias.(3)regardless of the trait or state gratitude all can make the individual positive cognitive bias,which gives the gratitude can reduce depression state of experimental proof.
