ShiTao (1642-1707) is the artist of early Qing Dynasty, who claimed innovation and brought tremendous influence upon the middle age of Qing Dynasty and neoteric brushwork. His artistic ideas and practice of painting had a major impact on future generations, and made important contribution to Chinese painting to the past, modern development.He set a personal theory of art system—is book 《SHITAOHUAYULU》 Profoundly summed up his art of painting concept and aesthetics, and Had a tremendous impact on future generations. ShiTao’s art is the evolution and derivatization from ’YIHUA LUN’This article focuses on the point method in ShiTao’s ink. Unlike most of the artists, ShiTao didn’t only use the points as a supplementary means of painting, and also stressed the independence of the points in painting, and push the point method to a new level.ShiTao’s point method is not only draw the essence of traditional income, more importantly, is derived from the refining of nature.
