Began writing from1972, now Duoduo’s creative time has spanned40years, however, he had been unknown for about20years in theearly period. As the excavations of “Baiyangdian poetry tribe” in1990s,Duoduo’s position was highlighted gradually, and he was retroactivelyadmitted as an important member of the" Misty poetry". He won the first“Anne Kao Prize” In2000, the third "Chinese Literature Media Awards?2004Annual Poet Award" in2005, and Neustatter International LiteraryAward in2010. Today, Duoduo is a poet of international reputation.However, for such an important poet, critics are quite scarce. Mostly heis classified as a member of "Baiyangdian Poetry tribe", or "Misty poetry"to be addressed. In fact, Duoduo’s creation shows a unique personalitymore, his unique language, superb skills, weird imagination, and clearinsight, all exudes amazing charm.In this paper, I put Duoduo’s language and presentation skills as thecore, capture the overall situation of Duoduo’s poetry creation, andpull him out from “Misty Poetry”, compare him with the same periodpoets (Bei Dao, Mang Ke, the Yue Chong), analyze the unique valueand special significance of his poetry. At the same time with Duoduoand Western poetry (Russian poetry, symbolism, super-realism) arecompared to reveal his poetry resources, sum up his expansion andcontribution to the language and performance skills in modern Chinesepoetry.The introduction discusses the research status of Duoduo’s poetry,and describes the structure and purpose of this paper.The first chapter, captures the whole understanding ofDuoduo’poems and divides it into: the youth and the CulturalRevolution-the Baiyangdian period (1972-1976), contemplation after resistance-Beijing period (1982-1988), wandering with hometown onback-Overseas period (1989-2004), that is, resist, meditation and exilethree periods. I select representative works of different periodsrespectively, read the text in detail to analyze the characteristics ofdifferent periods of poetry and the creation context of the age.The second chapter, is a further research of Duoduo’s language.Duoduo’s language is very unique, I study it from three aspects: thespecial sentence and stylistic, surreal imagery and languagedefamiliarization, paradox and irony of the language. And select thespecific text and verses, in-depth analyze Duoduo’s uniqueness of thelanguage and performance skills of modernity.Chapter III pulls Duoduo out from "Misty Poetry" as an independentpoet, compares him with the same period poets Bei Dao, Mang Ke,and Yue Chong, and analyzes the unique value of Duoduo’s poetry.Chapter IV, compares Duoduo with Russian poetry, symbolism,surrealism, and Chinese traditional poetry respectively, and analyzesthe modernity and the Chinese style of Duoduo’s poetry, reveals thesource of his poetic language and performance skills.Conclusion, discusses Duoduo’s expansion on language andcontribution to the modern Chinese poetry, reveals his impact onChinese poetry or potential influence.
