| When concluding the existing research results, it is found that thefirst-person-related Personal Deixis is a phenomenon that has rarelybeen studied, and the limited studies are accompanied with severalproblems, such as the unclarity of classification, or the oversimplificationof classification, or the unsystematic classification, etc. However, thefirst-person-related Personal Deixis is a common phenomenon, which isdirectly related with language users, and which lays the foundation forother Personal Deixis. So, this essay attempts to analyze and study thephenomenon of the first-person-related Personal Deixis on the basis ofpredecessors’ study results, and explore what is hard to unifyunderstanding, or has never been touched, or has not been studieddeep thoroughly, aiming to deepen our theoretical understanding ofthe phenomenon of Personal Deixis and the related discourse, as wellas provide practical reference for the teaching of personal pronoun injunior or middle classes and the teaching of Personal Deixis in mediumor senior grades in the field of Teaching Chinese as a ForeignLanguage(TCFL).The first chapter, the introduction, mainly states the significant of thistopic and analyzes related foreign and domestic studies. Afterconcluding foreign and domestic researches in recent years, we findthat the content and classification of the first-person-related PersonalDeixis should be redefined, and the negotiation principle and its maximscan be further studied as well. This chapter also introduces some basicissues regarding the theoretical methods used to solve theproblems, and the sources of language material, which lays sound basisfor the introduction of the phenomenon of the first-person-relatedPersonal Deixis. In the second chapter, we make a through definition of theconcept of ‘the first-person-related Personal Deixis’. We firstly make newresearches on personal pronoun, roles of communication, and theirrelationship, then confirm the basic meaning of the first-person-relatedPersonal Deixis, make clear explanation and instruction of the specificmeaning of ‘related’, and propose a new classification of thefirst-person-related Personal Deixis-‘Correspondence Deixis’ and‘Non-correspondence Deixis’.The third chapter analyzes the phenomenon of thefirst-person-related Correspondence Deixis from three aspects,including basic forms, the relationship among Personal Deixis, personalpronoun and roles of communication, and the relationship amongPersonal Deixis, conversational intention and conversationalimplicatures. The analysis uses language materials from TV productionand literary output, combines basic theories of pragmatics andpractical examples to conclude the basic forms of CorrespondenceDeixis and its conversational intention.The fourth chapter analyzes the phenomenon of thefirst-person-related Non-correspondence Deixis, which is the focus of thisessay. It firstly divides two types of Non-correspondence Deixis, RoleNon-correspondence Deixis and Pronoun Non-correspondence Deixis,then analyzes their basic forms and the features of the relationships ofPersonal Deixis and personal pronoun, roles of communication andconversational implicatures. Besides, the chapter also points that theessence of this phenomenon lies in the change of referents and viewpoints, analyzes two broad headings and three subclasses of PronounNon-correspondence Deixis, and finally concludes the normal mode of the first-person-related Non-correspondence Deixis.Based on the analysis of the former three parts, the fifth chapteruses relevant theoretical results of negotiation principle andmarkedness of pragmatics, accompanied with the reality of PersonalDeixis, to propose the pragmatics rules-coordination principle and itsrelated rules-to direct the first-person-related Personal Deixis. It alsopoints out that both abiding by and deviate from the rules will generateconversational implicatures, and express the speakers’ conversationalintension, whose core is the speakers’ understanding and coordinationof the obligation relationship of speaking rights and social rightsbetween speakers and listeners. In some specific deixis system, if thespeakers obey coordination principle, they will choosefirst-person-related Correspondence Deixis; if the speakers deviate fromthe rule, they will choose the first-person-related Non-correspondenceDeixis.The sixth chapter concludes the forms, pragmatics principles andgeneral model of the first-person-related Personal Deixis on the basis ofthe former chapters, and displays the main study with diagrams, withthe purpose of making the study clear, systematic and integrated. |
