As the basis of learning and using language, pronounciation occupies a significant position in teaching Chinese. It is also a difficulty in Teaching Chinese as The Second Language(TCSL). Due to the huge difference between English and Chinese, it is very difficult for the American students to master Chinese pronunciation. Affected by the negative transfer of their mother tongue, American students have formed several certain bias in initials, finals and tones. This article is commenced from the difficulties of American students. It analyzes the bias of American Chinese learners under the guidance of interlanguage theory, comparative analysis theory and error analysis theory. These bias are all collected from the actual learning process of beginner American students. The data includes the bias of initials, finals and tones. The author also proposes solutions for correcting the bias and suggestions for pronunciation teaching strategies.The author has found out some error bias of initials, finals and tones during her studying and analysis. All these are particularly described in this article. The author also proposes some teaching strategies based on the bias she found out. These strategies which had also been used in her own teaching experience helped her closely get to her goal on this teaching activity.The author is also hoping that the data and the strategies listed in this article would be a useful complement for others who have been devoted into Teaching Chinese as The Second Language.
