Since Tang Dynasty, Korea has always had close interaction in culture with China, and their painting styles have been influenced by China as well. In the later period of Joseon dynasty, a lot of works embodying Chinese art and the local characteristics have appeared as the result of the influence of. In this period, Korean art has also achieved its summit. This thesis focuses on the influence of Chinese literary men’s landscape paintings on Korean art style in the later period of Joseon dynasty from various aspects, aiming at contributing to the cultural communication and providing theoretic framework for the development of two cultures.This thesis can be divided into three parts:the first part is about the background and map for the development of Chinese literary men’s landscape paintings, as well as the contrast of the development, maturity, and prosperity between Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty. The second part is about the historic background and art styles of the later period of Joseon dynasty. The last part is about the influence and reflections of literary men’s landscape paintings in the last period of Joseon dynasty landscape paintings.
