In recent years, the mental health of college students has gradually become the focus of society. A large number of facts show that the psychological problems encountered by most college students are embodied in their bad relationships and wrong coping style. This study attempts to investigate the current situation of college students’ ego state and coping style, as well as the relationship between them. In this study,386college students in Chongqing are selected in the investigation, and the questionnaire method was used to collect data.The conclusions are as the following:1. The college students’ mental energy distribution in five functional ego state are different. The order of these five ego state basis the amount of mental energy as follows:Nurturing Parents Adult. Free Child. Controlling Parent. Adapted Child.2. There are significant grade differences in Control parent ego state (CP) and adult ego state (A).The mental energy of freshman student in control Parent ego state (CP) and adult ego state (A) were significantly lower than that of the senior student.3. The order of the college students’coping styles ranked by use frequency as follows: Problem-solving. Recourse. Backoff. Fantasy. Rationalization. Self-blame.4. There is s a significant correlation between College Students’ego state and coping styles. CP was significantly negatively correlated with problem-solving, but significantly positively correlated with rationalization. NP was significantly positively correlated with s problem-solving and recourse, but significantly negatively correlated with backoff, fantasy, rationalization andself-blame. There is a significantly positive correlation between A and problem-solving, a negative correlation between A and backoff、fantasy、rationalization、 self-blame. AC was significantly negatively correlated with problem-solving and recourse, but significantly positively correlated with backoff, fantasy、rationalization and self-blame. There is a significantly positive correlation between FC and problem-solving and recourse.
