Abstract/Summary:
Fu(a style of writing in the history of Chinese ancient literature),likepoems, can also express the people’s will and ambition. Yanzhi Fu, an importantpart of Chinese ancient literature, appeared in the middle and later East Handynasty.“Weizhi Fu”, written by Cui Zhuan is considered as the beginning ofYanzhi Fu. After Cui Zhuan, a number of writers emerged. Then a new trend ofcomposing Fu was formed. To Jian’an Period and the Wei and Jin Dynasties, withthe loosing of the bondage on the literary creation by the feudal autocraticcentralization rule and the orthodox ideas of Confucian culture, the aestheticthought of Sao style in Chu Period took the opportunity to expand the influence,which ushered in the boom of Yanzhi Fu. On the basis of the tradition, these Fuwere developed further in the subjects, contents, and writing techniques. Finally,many masterpieces of Fu emerged. Since 1980s, Fu study have been developed by leapsand bounds, but to their assigned dedicated research is not a lot, just the writingsas a chapter, but few scholars have paid enough attention to the comprehensivestudy of Yanzhi Fu. This thesis is aimed to carry out a comprehensive and detailedresearch and analysis of Yanzhi Fu in the Wei, Jin and Southern and NorthernDynasties.This thesis is mainly divided into five parts:The introduction part expounds the main purpose of researching Yanzhi Fu andthe significance of the topic, reviews the history and status quo of Yanzhi Fustudy, and introduces the status of Fu in Wei, Jin and Southern and NorthernDynasties in the history of Ci and Fu(both are writing styles in ancient China).Chapter One gives a new definition of Yanzhi Fu based on the personalunderstanding and orientation of the category of Yanzhi Fu, making the object ofstudy in this thesis clear. Then it mainly analyzes the main reasons of the risingand developing of Yanzhi Fu from three aspects--the role of inertia of the literaryinheritance, the political environment at that time, and the views of life andvalue in the heart of ancient intellectuals.Chapter Two introduces the general situation of the creation of Yanzhi Fu in Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties. The first section outlines thesituation from the macroscopic angle. The second section reasons the choosingprocess of Yanzhi Fu from Fu in Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties andlists them in a table.Chapter Three is the classification of Yanzhi Fu in Wei, Jin and Southernand Northern Dynasties. This part is the core of the thesis. In general, YanzhiFu in Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties are classified as Fu of thelament for failures and Fu of the voice of big ambitions. Secondly, Fu of the lamentare subdivided into six aspects according to the different writing techniques usedin them. Fu of the voice of big ambitions are subdivided into three aspectsconsidering their contents in order to grasp the writer’s thoughts and certaincharacteristics in their works.Chapter Four discusses the artistic features of Yanzhi Fu in Wei, Jin andSouthern and Northern Dynasties. The features mainly show in four aspects: thechange of value orientation, the composing style of combining the subjects withpeople, vivid artistic creation and rich and colorful expressions.The Conclusion part summarizes the content and characteristics of Yanzhi Fuin Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties, and points out the limitationof the present research and the areas further research on Yanzhi Fu can focus on.
