Yang Hongnian Children's Chorus And Conductor Theory Research

In recent years, our country has been advocating for “harmonious society”,thinking, building and promoting harmony. As chorus is one of the art reflections forsocial harmony, domestic chorus gets more and more public recognition. With lifelevel gets promoted unceasingly, culture quality improves constantly, and youngchildren needs more culture in their life, children’s chorus has also got vigorousdevelopment as one of elegant music art form in China. Professor Yang Hongnian isthe most authoritative representative in children’s chorus.Yang Hongnian is a famous conductor as well as an educator. His conductingstyle is passionate, elegant, and very expressive. His unique conducting art andoutstanding skills and disciplines on training chorus have won him great praise frommusic fans both at home and abroad. Therefore, he is known as “master that graspingthe mystery of chorus”. Based on long-term teaching experience of children’s chorusconducting, he explored a unique teaching system of children’s chorus and producedabundant teaching experience. All of these have become a rich wealth to the area ofchildren’s chorus conducting teaching.This thesis focuses on Professor Yang’s unique teaching method on children’schorus conducting and also on theories of children’s chorus conducting. By in-depthrehearsal of children’s chorus in class, the thesis comprehensively inspected histeaching method and academic ideology on children’s chorus conducting, and madefurther and more delicate research on it.The thesis can be divided into three parts.The first part is a general introduction on Prof. Yang’s artistic career. In this part,it mainly introduces Prof. Yang’s conducting career, teaching career, and foundationof his children’s chorus, international competition and domestic show.The second part is about teaching practice on children’s chorus rehearsal. It willanalyze Prof. Yang’s basic rehearsal methods from five aspects.The last part is mainly about methods to rehearse children’s chorus. It makesresearch on some of Prof. Yang’s representative methods. Then, it explores hisimportant thoughts on conducting method and unique training method fromperspective of swing theory.
