This issue focuses on the damaged Jinkou Dam inscriptions, which covers three mainsubjects: first, investigation on the basis situation of the monuments; second, the texts of theinscriptions; third, the writers of the inscriptions and their calligraphy styles. The city of Yanzhouwhose ancient name is Xiaqiu, has been a Buddhist shrine since ancient times. This issue will listsystematically the monasteries and historical events about Buddhism of each dynasty in Yanzhou.The Jinkou Dam inscriptions include sculptures&the records of them, engraving scriptures&the dedication of them, the records of building temples, and so on. For the majoritymonuments are incomplete, this issue will speculate the original forms and shapes of themonuments, and divide the times of them according to the texts and calligraphy styles of theinscriptions. This issue will also compare the Jinkou Dam inscriptions with the monuments ofthe same time and place, especially the newly discovered monuments in the respects of forms,sculptors and calligraphy styles in order to study the regional convergence of the styles.
