In modern philosophy study, Leibniz’s epistemology is a very important area.Along with its writings, letters, and polemic published, people on the Leibnizphilosophy research in both breadth and depth has reached a significant level. Leibnizas the only representative of the theory, and empiricist Rock interaction in the debate,the modern philosophical epistemology of“innate ideas”dispute to a climax. In thedebate with the experiences, he also gradually realized the inadequacy of rationalism;he critically inherits the foundation of the past philosophers’thought, to develop histalent concept theory, and gives a new connotation and form of innate ideasThis article starts from innate ideas and origin of the theory, combing Leibniz andformer talent idea theory, comparing the various ideological similarities anddifferences, and then expatiates the genius of Leibniz idea theory of rationalcomposition and its effect on the development of epistemology’s contribution, andanalyses the far-reaching effect of Leibniz’s theory of innate ideas on Germanclassical philosopher Immanuel Kant and modern western philosophy, Popper, Piaget,Chomsky.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part mainly explains the origin of themodern talent idea theory and the empiricist critique of innate ideas. This part coversfrom the concept of innate origin, began from Platon in ancient Greece, to Descarteswho specified innate ideas, Spinoza and Descartes and his disciples of the talentconcept theory. In epistemology, empiricism and rationalism, has been always debated.The innate idea is put forward by the early British empiricist Hobbes, Gassendi, Rockand others on the talent idea critically. The second part discusses the main content ofLeibniz’s talent idea. This part begins from the basic theory of idea of Monadologyand mainly discusses the properties list, list of grade and continuity and"predetermined harmony" theory. The third part is the focus of this paper, mainly discusses Leibniz’s criticism on Rock "tabula rasa"; innate ideas" latent" or " there isgrain marble" theory; innate ideas by potential into reality" show". The fourth partmainly explains the significance and influence of Leibniz’s talent idea theory.Leibniz’s theory of innate ideas in certain extent overcome the negative intuitions ofRock“tabula rasa”and beyond the Cartesian theory of innate ideas. Leibniz’s talentconcept in theory of knowledge is profound. It is the source of Kant’s" innatecomprehensive judgment" theory of the direct ideology and it also has far-reachingeffect on modern western philosophy, Popper, Piaget and Chomsky.By integrating, analyzing, summarizing the Leibniz innate ideas theory this articlewishes to evaluate Leibniz’s theory objectively and justly. Thereby the article intendsto clarify the development of epistemology and deepen the understanding of thehistory of epistemology. Finally it will make our better understanding of the researchof western philosophy.
