Zhang Xinhua Accordion Music Works

In Chinese new generation of accordion artists, Zhang Xinhua is one of the fewperformers, composers who made outstanding achievements in the accordion, musicteaching, music creation and academic research areas. In addition to the accordionworks, his music creation also relates to the vocal music, musical, drama, Mongoliaopera, TV movie score and other fields. But he would like to create works in his mostloved instrument–the accordion. The melody is beautiful and the style is diversity.Most of his works use our national music element and exudes a strong ethnic flavor.At the same time, these works have also actively promoted the nationalization anddiversification, professional development of the Chinese accordion music creation.Based on the different methods of creation, Zhang Xinhua’s accordion works canbe divided into creative writing class and adapted for two parts. In writing class, thispaper chooses three representative styles of works–the accordion and the band"Impression of Yin Mountain rock paintings–hunting", the accordion duet "Variations of Elunchun folk theme" and the free bass accordion solo" by Frank AnjiLeeds", and undertakes relatively thorough and careful research from the creationbackground, music body and playing skills for three respects, further demonstratesrich musical performance methods and solid writing skills of the author. In theadaptation of class, this paper selects two representative Chinese accordion works–the Quartet of accordion and sihu " Capriccio of Wuligeer theme" and accordionQuartet "Jingzhe", and do the in-depth analysis from the creation, music body andperformance skills for three aspects, fully demonstrates the flexibility and adaptabilityof accordion in the interpretation of Chinese national music and the process ofcooperation with Chinese national instrument.This paper discusses Zhang Xinhua’s accordion works mainly for five parts.The first part is the introduction. It provides an overview of Chinese accordionmusic creation course in four slots from thirty or forty time of last century, after thefounding of new China, the period of cultural revolution, since the reform and opening up. This is also a briefly review about the fusion process of accordion musicand Chinese native music.The second part divides into two sections to introduce Zhang Xinhua’s life andmusic creation in detail: the first section is the composer’s biography; the secondsection describes the composer’s music creation situation, including the accordionmusic creation and other types of music for two aspects.The third part is the main part of this thesis which means the analysis of ZhangXinhua’s accordion works. This part takes three pieces of different styles ofrepresentative creative types of accordion works as a starting point, respectively, do acomprehensive and detailed analysis from the creation background, music body andplaying skills .The author tries to find out the rich creation and performance of musicmeans. There are three major sections. The first section is the accordion and the band"Impression of Yin Mountain rock paintings–hunting" .The second section is theaccordion duet "Variations of Elunchun folk theme". The third section is the free bassaccordion solo "By Frank Anji Leeds".The fourth part is the analysis of Zhang Xinhua’s accordion adapted works. Thispart is played with two difficult and representative Chinese accordion works as astarting point, respectively, conducts in-depth and detailed analysis from the creation,music body and performance skills for three aspects and tries to reveal wealth musicmeans of accordion creation and performance. There are two major sections. The firstsection is the Quartet of accordion and sihu "Capriccio of Wuligeer theme". Thesecond section is accordion Quartet "Jingzhe".The fifth part is the conclusion. It summarizes the research value of ZhangXinhua’s accordion music works and an active role in promoting the development ofChinese accordion he has played.
