| Background&Objective:Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion (RSA) defined as the loss of twice or more consecutive pregnancies, is a common gynecological disease, affects0.5-1%of fertile couples. And in recent years with the advancement of women as well as the pressure increases, the incidence of RSA is rising. At present, Western medicine for RSA with symptomatic and supportive treatment, there are some limitations. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has a long history to the investigation and treatment of RSA, ancient Chinese literature recorded the rich and valuable experience in the diagnosis and treatment, and achieved a significant effect in the clinical treatment of this disease. The effect of Integrative Medicine in treatment of RSA is effective and reliable; it has been accepted by most clinicians. This study evaluates the efficacy of Bushenantai Decoction in combination with Progesterone for treating RSA, provides a high-quality evidence for Integrative Medicine treating RSA, and provides a more effective treatment method for prevention of spontaneous abortion occurs repeatedly and protect women’s reproductive health. Methods&Materials:Part I:The study reviews the RSA’s history and research status of TCM, and Western medicine research progress of the pathogenesis and treatment of RSA. Part II:45RSA Women with Luteal Phase Deficiency and kidney deficiency were randomized and paralleled in a2:1distribution to receive Bushenantai Decoction in combination with Progesterone100mg twice daily (case group) or only Progesterone (control group). It detects progesterone and β-HCG level regularly, and observes the embryo or fetus by ultrasound. The clinical efficacy before and after the treatment, success pregnancy rate, progesterone and β-HCG level, and adverse drug reaction were observed. Results:The success pregnancy rate was93.3%in case group and67.7%in control group (P>0.05). There was a significant difference in the clinical symptoms and signs between the two groups (P<0.05).The progesterone level at first8weeks of pregnancy also has a significant difference in case group compared with control group (P<0.05). Follow-up of the two groups of patients, no malformation or abnormal development of the fetuses and newborns were observed. Conclusions:Part I, the treatment of RSA with Integrative Medicine is coordinated, complementary advantages, and it has a fairly clinical effective. But the presence of the problem is lack of high-quality research. Part II, it can be concluded that Bushenantai Decoction in combination with Progesterone is effective for decreasing the clinical symptoms and signs, improving the success pregnancy rate, enhancing the level of progesterone and improving early pregnancy luteal function. The effect of Integrative Medicine in treatment of RSA is effective and reliable. It also has advantages of no significant side effects, less pain, and a high acceptance. It is one of the effective ways of clinical therapeutics for RSA. |
