Tongue diagnosis is one of the most important diagnostic methods, which has been a system as the developing of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It proved that pathogenetic condition could be objectively reflectedby tongue picture.Now that many patients of the Type2diabetes mellitus never show typical symptoms,tongue picture is particularly important in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.Purposes:Based on data mining technology, tongue picture records and biochemical test results will be analyzed in this article in order to explore the common tongue picture, how tongue picture correlates with biochemical test results,how tongue picture affects the prescriptions,and the internal connection between phlegm-damp and blood stasis.Methods:Structured Query Language(SQL) is introduced to extract the required information from the oracle Database established by outpatient cases.Tongue picture, biochemical test results and traditional Chinese medicine are specificated via Extraction-Transformation-Loading(ETL) and Excel. Extracting relevant data of tongue picture in patients with type2diabetes and exporting by excel form, the distribution of tongue picture will be analyzed.The quantifiable elements of tongue picture, involves coating nature(thick or thin),coating colour(deep or light),tongue nature(deep or light) and sublingual-threads(zhi, yu, bi),according towhose respective characteristics Score assignment is given.Simultaneously, biochemical test results,consist of FPG、2hPG、HbAl、TG. CHO, and the age and BMI of patients, normal distribution of which was shown using SPSS19.0Chinese version to the normality test.Inthecircumstances, Pearson correlation analysis is recommended to probe the relationships between variables.Relatestraditional Chinese medicine with elements of tongue picture and calculates the correlation between tongue picture using complex network Liquorice software and traditional Chinese medicine using Pointwise Mutual Jnformation(PMI).Results:1.The study includes1122patients with Type2diabetes,5930visits,of which there are1122men patients and4808women patients,accounting for19%and81%respectively. Youngest patient was15years old, maximum90years.2、The distribution of tongue picture:the first three coating nature are thick tongue coating, greasy coating and thick and greasy tongue; white fur, yellow fur and yellowish fur are priority over other fur color; red, dark red, pink mainly occupy an important position in tongue nature; stagnate, stagnate to stasis and stasis above all else in the tongue veins. Furthermore, Glossal form emphasizes enlarged tongue, teeth-print and small fluttering.3. The scores of coating nature are positively correlated with FBG and2hPG separately and the scores of coating colour are positively associated with AGE、BMI、TG. It proved that there is a positive correlation between tongue color and TG,and the same between sublingual venation and AGE.While a negative correlation is statistically demonstrated between sublingual venation and2hPG4、The correlation between tongue picture and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) is as follows.the top10between coating nature and TCM:thick coating to Rhizoma Coptidis, greasy coating to Rhizoma Coptidis, thick coating to Radix Scutellariae, thick coating to Rhizoma Zingiberis, greasy coating to Radix Scutellariae, thick and greasy coating to Rhizoma Coptidis, thick coating to Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, greasy coating to Rhizoma Zingiberis, thick coating to Ginger, thick coating to Radix Pucrariae; the first10highest correlation between coating colour and TCM is white to Rhizoma Coptidis,yellow to Rhizoma Coptidis,white to Radix Scutellariae,white to Rhizoma Zingiberis,yellow to Radix Scutellariae, yellow to Rhizoma Zingiberis,white to Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, yellowish to Rhizoma Coptidis,white to Radix Puerariae,yellow to Rhizoma Anemarrhenae; red tongue to Rhizoma Coptidis, dull-red tongue to Rhizoma Coptidis, red tongue to Radix Scutellariae, red tongue to Rhizoma Zingiberis, dull-red tongue to Radix Scutellariae, dull-red tongue to Rhizoma Zingiberis, red tongue to Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, dull-red tongue to Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, red tongue to Ginger and red tongue to Radix Puerariae are factually discovered to be the most important10relationship between tongue color and TCM; moreover, Rhizoma Coptidis, Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Zingiberis, Ginger, Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Radix Puerariae, Hirudo, rhubarb stir-fried with wine,Caulis Spatholobi,and Radix Trichosanthis are demonstrated to be Highly associated with tongue vein stasis. Conclusion:Retrospective analysis based on Clinical outpatient cases rudimentarily explores the tongue picture ofT2DM patients,which shows that tongue picture changes of T2DM patients is highly correlated with age of patients, FPG、2hPG、TG and BMI. Conclusion has been drawed that plasma glucose and blood lipid can be figured by tongue picture to some extent.It is found that red tongue, yellow thick and greasy coating, sublingual vein stasis are more common in diabetic paticnts,which may prompt excessive intake of high-fat, high-protein food and too little exercise in modern lifestyle.As is known to all, surplus phlegm-damp in the body may leads to thick and greasy coating,transmiting heating as it develops, followed by red tongue, yellow coating gradually. Phlegmatic hygrosis will aggravate the blood stasis, then sublingual vein stasisstagnation emerge developmentally,and gradually exacerbates over time.
