Lumbago Disease And Ancient Literature Research

Lumbago is a clinical common disease,which is caused by exogenous and internal injuries or wrenched lumbus pain.Its pathogenesis is those factors can lead to the waist qi-blood operation impeded, capillary contracted or Meridian detained,or deficiency of qi and blood. The main symptom of lumbago is back pain on one side or both sides or middle,which can radiate to many parts of the body,such as chest, back, flanks, abdomen, spine, buttocks, thighs, legs and feet. There are close relationships between lumbago and kidney, urinary bladder channel of foot taiyang,kidney channel of foot shaoyin, Conception,Chong Governor and Belt vessels.At first, lumbago usually is exterior syndrome of excess type,which suffer from the cold dampness, hot and humid, and contusion, etc,while finally Kidney waist pain is the most common. Its morbidity are closest with kidney, regardless of the external or internal disease factors, they always base on deficiency of the kidney, contusion, dampness and damp heat are inducements.The typical clinical manifestations of lumbago are mentioned in Chinese ancient literatures. And there are a great many related records in ancient books of traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). With abundant medical experience, rich theories of TCM on lumbago were accumulated,including etiology, pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, treatment, preventive measures, nursing, healing, and so on. So it is worth to dig and collate the literatures and to inherit and develop the theories.This study is basically a study of philology. Based on time as the main line, represented by all previous dynasties main doctors’academic ideas, and based on the data of lumbago in past dynasties collected, further analysis on these materials is made. The academic characters in each stage from pre-qin to the period of Ming and Qing Dynasty are expatiated to reveal the origin and development of the learning on lumbago.On this basis, a comprehensive analysis for TCM syndromes of lumbago, tries to completely reflect the past dynasties in medical diagnosis and treatment described the academic theory and clinical experience, and explore the correlation between lumbago and kidney. It not only provides the theoretical experience for clinical treating lumbago disease and reference, will also help to develop the research and treatment of lumbago and enrich the treatment thoughts.This article is divided into three parts, the first part is the literature review.It describes today’s medicine research and development situation of lumbago, including the general situation of the study of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, to grasp the era trend, delimits the scope of this article and research direction, summarizes the correlation between lumbago and kidney-bone diseases in modern medicine, supports the third part of this article.The second part mainly consists of three pieces, firstly,it introduces the origin and development of lumbago including Qin and Han dynasties, Wei and Jin dynasties, Sui and Tang dynasties, Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan dynasties and the Ming and qing dynasties. Secondly, it introduces the understanding of lumbago from Qin and Han dynasties to the Sui and Tang dynasties,and mainly analyzes the etiology and pathogenesis of lumbago. Thirdly, it introduces the understanding of lumbago from Song dynasty to the Ming and Qing dynasties, mainly keeps the clinical treatment of lumbago.This part mainly analyzes the important medical literature about lumbago from different historical periods, involving definition,etiology,pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, characteristic medicine, syndrome differentiation, and so on.The third part mainly discusses the correlation between lumbago and kidney. The kidneys storing essence and governing water, are the cornerstone of internal relations of waist-kidney-viscera. Under this theory, using the traditional Chinese medicine prescription to regulate viscera qi activity, is the best treatment. The kidneys governing waist and feet is the comprehensive summary of the relationship between meridian and kidney,which is the theory basis of acupuncture treatment. Exploring the correlation between lumbago and kidney, will provide the new ideas for clinical diagnosis,treatment about traditional Chinese prescription, acupuncture therapy and Qigong Daoyin Therapy, as well as provides the theory basis for treatment all kinds of lumbago in modern medicine.
