The measurement of hallux valgus angle and the first intermetatarsal angle are one of the important indicators to determine the severity of hallux valgus deformity and evaluate the postoperative efficacy. At present, there hasn’t been a recognized(accepted) standard method to measure the two angles both nationally and internationally. The disorder of the measurement method makes the measurement data uncomparable, and the reliability of the efficacy evaluation of hallux valgus operation is affected. Objectives:To propose the best measurement method of hallux valgus with minimally invasive technique of integrated Chinese and Western medicine postoperative X-ray films.change the current lack of unified and standardized measurement method situation;Establish standards of measurement quality control methods to reduce the measurement bias of hallux valgus with minimally invasive technique of integrated Chinese and Western medicine postoperative X-ray films. Methods:In this project, six different methods are used to measure hallux valgus with minimally invasive technique of integrated Chinese and Western medicine postoperative X-ray films. By using professional image measurement software:Image Pro Plus6.0, and under the strict quality control, different measurers measure one X-ray film in each separate operation with six methods; The same measurer measure the different X-ray films in the same operation with six methods. By calculating the average level of the different values measured by the two methods and the95%confidence interval, the Bland-Altman analysis and the evaluation of consistency are done, so that the appropriate measurement methods to of different hallux valgus operations are determined. Results:In five different measurements for one X-ray film with six kinds of methods to measure the difference between the value of the measurement by measuring comparative p>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant, explaining that there is no significant difference in the measurements, quality control is effective.Method C that the connection of the midpoint of the articular surface. Higher reliability of the measured values before and after the two standard deviation and confidence interval range narrowest, method C is the most stable in the two measurements before and after each measurement data. The difference of method A and D have the the smallest standard deviation Bland-Altman analysis drawn clearly scatter plot reflects the consistency of the highest of the method A and D.Conclusions:The professional measurement software, automatic generated axis marked point easily determined by other factors affect the minimum, stability and repeatability.Professional tool for software measurement to replace the manual measurement is the development trend of the future after X-ray measurements of hallux valgus.Method A as the gold standard of measurement. As Bland-Altman shows the best measurement method of hallux valgus with minimally invasive technique of integrated Chinese and Western medicine postoperative X-ray films is determined through the center point of the first metatarsal head and the first metatarsal base connection to the center point of the first metatarsal axis.easy to determine, repeatability, only one reference point. It can be used as a clinical measurement of hallux valgus with minimally invasive technique of integrated Chinese and Western medicine postoperative X-ray films.
