Nursing Clinical Career Expectations Of Postgraduate Study

Background:With the development of nursing postgraduate education development, increase in nursing, now has more than30colleges and universities to recruit graduate students, College of nursing doctoral students has grown to20. The current nursing postgraduates from admission to employment in the process of clinical nursing work has certain defensiveness there. That the service work of clinical nursing low education, low skills, simple and complex, the nurse in the hospital of low status, work hard, are not paid in full recognition and compensation, not engaged in or out of the clinical work. But with the development of graduate education, the number of nursing postgraduates from increasing, mainly engaged in teaching, management forms of employment to engaged in clinical nursing work. As a graduate student expectations too high and the drop, the stability will be in clinical work is reduced; by understanding the graduate expectency and level for clinical work, thus changing the graduate clinical work motivation, to promote nursing postgraduates in clinical work and steady development.Objective:through in-depth interviews, literature study, drawing on relevant measurement tools, measurement tools for professional characteristics of nursing occupation expectation with the formal questionnaire; adjustable current application and then the test has high reliability and validity in nursing postgraduate Occupation Expectation check, preliminary understanding of Occupation Expectation of nursing postgraduates.Methods:This study is divided into two parts, the first part according to the expectation theory as the guide, through the relevant entry literature study, in-depth interviews with22full-time nursing postgraduate collected on the basis of nursing postgraduate Occupation Expectation; measurement tools for the preparation of the characteristics of clinical nursing occupation expectation of compliance, inspection and investigation, the letter210nursing postgraduates validity; in the second part of the Occupation Expectation questionnaire with higher reliability and validity for measuring tool for research on nursing eight nursing colleges in Beijing and the surrounding areas have a total of190nursing postgraduates of clinical engineering occupation expectation survey.Results:the first part is through the thematic analysis method showed8theme4aspects,4aspects mainly: personal occupation development, occupation environment improvement, personal relationships and survival needs;8topics include:training mode, value, equality, development platform, management system, the clinical need, clinical status, stable life theme; after3aspects of factor analysis showed that the5dimensions and24Occupation Expectation questionnaire,3aspects for the self development needs, affinity needs and the need of the power;5dimensions respectively, scientific research, technology management, interpersonal and fame dimension; the KOM value is0.851, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of0.897the total questionnaire, the split-half reliability was0.754. The second part through the investigation results for nursing postgraduate Occupation Expectation of higher overall level of leadership and management, among them, got the highest score (4.51), reputation scores the lowest (3.77); the factors that influence the clinical work occupation expectation of nursing postgraduates including family factors and social factors; family factors package only children, marriage and family-the harmonious relationship between work and parental expectations; social factors include:school,and salary.Conclusion:training in professional training expectations of nursing graduate from graduate students, improve the ability of clinical practice; expected to guide nursing graduate to nurse from the hospital, meet the needs of their own research and development; from the aspect of graduate students expect to improve their interpersonal skills...
