Objective:Study on the pharmacognosy and quality evaluation of Callicarpa kwangtungensis Chun, provide scientific basis for variety identification, quality control,chemical constituents,standardized cultivation,the rational use of drugs.Methods:The morphological identification of C.kwangtungensis Chun by original plant identification,character identification and microscopic identification method.According to Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010Edition, Volume I),the moisture content, total ash, extract the investigation were tested. The content of forsythiaside B (C34H44O19) and poliumoside (C35H46O19) of C.kwangtungensis Chun (from different areas, different ages, different months, different parts, different breeding the way), C.cathayann and C.dichotoma, were determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The fingerprints of C. kwangtungensis Chun were established.Results:1The pharmacognostical characteristics of C.kwangtungensis Chun were mainly distinguished by the stems, leaves, and fruits.Stems is few branched and. glabrous.withing narrowly elliptic-lanceolate shape,the leaf is glabrous.the lower leaf is surfured by yellow glands.,the ripe fruit is violet and globular, with2-4divisions of infructescences.The microscopic features of the stem epidemal surface:many non-glandular hairs;broad bark;pericycle fibers;bundle collateral typer;developmental pith.Leaves:visible glandular hairs, non-glandular hairs, glandular scale; palisade cells,two columns;bundle collateral typer;central parenchyma, collenchyma.Microscopic:visible stellate hairs, non-glandular hairs, glandular hairs, glandular scales; porosity; crystal fibers; catheter. myeloid cell.2The moisture content, total ash, extract the investigation were tested in according with regulation of Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2010Edition, Volume I).The highest moisture content is9.86%and the lowest5.27%, lower than the official12.0%.The results of highest total ash was5.8%, lower than the official6.0%.Water-soluble extractives were determined by hot extraction method, the area of Huitong and Luxi is respectively by7.43%,7.95%.The tests of other regions are also higher than the official5.0%.3The content of forsythiaside B (C34H44O19) and poliumoside (C35H46O19) of C.kwangtungensis Chun (from different areas, different ages, different months, different parts, different breeding way), C.cathayann and C.dichotoma were different. The total contents of forsythoside B and poliumoside from Luxi,Xinyu,Huitong,Qiandongnan were8.87%,7.46%,5.11%,4.14%.The other sources are far higher than that the pharmacopoeia0.5%.The content of different parts source from Luxi:leaf>stem>fruit, source from Huitong,Loudi, stem>leaf>fruit.The content is far higher than the stem, leaf, fruit.in the part of root.The content of forsythiaside B and poliumoside is different with months, the content was highest in October, with downing trend in November.Reproductive modes have influenced in the contents of forsythiaside B and poliumoside,sowing method was4.12%,0.69%with cuttings method.The contents of C.cathayann and C.dichotoma is far lower than C.kwangtungensis Chun.4In this paper,the high efficient liquid phase fingerprint of C.hwangtungensis Chun have established.Comparative studying in the difference of C.kwangtungensis Chun from different areas, the sources of Xinyu,Luxi,Huitong,Qian dongnan,Taijiang of guizhou is similar.The similarity is only0.635in the sample of Loudi area.
