However, with the development of the society and living style, the population of some etiologies such as hyperphagia, exertion, staying up, and great pressure can easily result in the pathogenesis of spleen-stomach incoordination and the phlegm evil formation, which leads to a sthenic syndrome of the disease, also considerable for the aged. In TCM, the disease are usually treated by the therapies of activating blood circulation, removing blood stasis, spleen-stomach regulating, and/or eliminating pathogen to support vital qi. The TCM therapies are of evident effects, fewer side-effects and better compliance. However, the relevant study is in short.The TCM compound named dampness-removing, turbid-resolving and heart-communicating formula, created by professor Lu Zhizheng who devotes years to the research of TCM hygropathy theory, are based on the modern characteristic of dyslipidemia and of significant clinic effect. In the study, on one hand, the inherent connections of phlegm evil and hyperlipidemia have been investigated; on the other hand, the feasibility, practicability and mechanism of the TCM treatment called dampness-removing, turbid-resolving and heart-communicating has been discussed, providing a new way for treating and preventing hyperlipidemia with TCM.The study contains the following two parts:1. Theoretical studyAbnormal metabolism of lipid, a term of modern medicine, belongs to the TCM syndrome patterns of phlegm, blood stasis or vertigo. By searching and reading the relevant incunabula and modem articles, the literature of etiology, pathogenesis, symptom and treatment of the disease both in modern medicine and TCM has been overviewed. The close relationship of abnormal metabolism of lipid with phlegm evil and spleen-stomach has been discussed, which offers theoretical accordance for treating the disease with the TCM treatment of dampness-removing, turbid-resolving and heart-communicating.2Clinical Study:Results of clinical study:Except HDL-C,other indexes including TC,TQLDL-C in the treatment group were all obviously improved after the treatment [the statistical values were(5.81±1.70)mmol/L,(3.05±2.30)mmol/L,(3.39±1.11)mmol/L respectively,P<0.01或0.05], which were also better than the control group[the statistical values were(6.16±1.91)mmol/L (3.03±1.89)mmol/L,(3.81±0.63)mmol/L,P<0.01或0.05].Symptoms improvement such as chest oppression,dizziness,heaviness of head,headache,sticky mouth without thirsty,constipation, nausea and vomiting,and heaviness of limbs in the treatment group were also better than the control group,with mean rank were23.83、38.10、36.10、34.70、36.77、39.82、33.38、34.17respectively.No abnormal changes were found in indexes of blood routine,urinary routine,stool routine,ECG,ALT,AST and Cr.Conclusion:LU Zhi-zheng’s dampness-removing,turbid-resolving and heart-communicating formula improved clinical symptoms and signs of abnormal lipid metabolism patients,its therapeutic effects were better than gypenosides.
