Colorectal cancer is one of the common malignancies of digestive tract. It is reported that the rate of Colorectal Cancer in China has been showed a gradually increased trend every year. It is related to the improved life, the transformation of dietary structure and life stresses. Although radical surgery has made an increasingly number of patients recover completely, some of the midst or advanced patients lose the chances of recovery by surgery, since the early signs are hidden. Even though the Chemoradiotherapy and targeted therapy have made significantly progress, the advanced patients can not depend on these ways to combat all the diseases; therefore, the palliative treatment of traditional Chinese medicine plays a pivotal role of the process of curing the advanced patients.The symptoms of advanced patients of colorectal cancer are relatively complex. As the development of traditional Chinese medicine, clinical therapy take increasingly measures to help patients release symptoms and prolong survival gains. However, the standard of traditional Chinese medicine comprehensive treatment have not been developed to guide cl inical pract ice. This research will collect the clinical information and analyze the experiences from patients. Thus, on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine, this research includes two dimensions which are clinical effects and patients’experiences.Objective:To understand the traditional Chinese medicine comprehensive treatment of advanced colorectal cancer, and further prove and improve this treatment.Methods:The research1adopts the methodology of descriptively analysis. Collect the disease and therapy information from68advanced colorectal cancer’s during their hospitalization, and analyze these materials through the descriptive and statistical way. The research2uses the methodology of sociology qual i tat ive research. Do the depth interviews to collect the materials from eight patients, and design and analyze data using the theme analysis.Results:The average age of advanced colorectal cancer patients accept traditional Chinese medicine comprehensive treatment is70.28±9.058, including60.3%of the elderly patients (>70years old).Pattern sype are deficiency syndrome, excess syndrome, deficiency and excess in superficiality (17.9%,17.9%and64.2%, respectively). The Average days in hospitals are17.62 ±7.252. The frequency of various kinds of clinical therapy of traditional Chinese medicine to the advanced colorectal cancer patients see a decline from treatment based on syndrome differentiation的ecoction、intravenous medicine、 oral patent medicine、foot spy、music threpy、diet therapy、acupuncture and moxibustion、enema to others. After a cycle by traditional Chinese medicine comprehensive treatment, the KPS of patients have changed to P>0.05, the weight have changed to P>0.05, the main symptom grade have changed to P<0.05, and the patients of三olid tumor (RECIST standard) remaining stable reach47.06%. The reasons of qualitative interview are medical reasons, treatment outcome, effects, the factors of influence and expectations. The major reasons for therapy are past effective treatment, age and physical, channels. The outcomes of traditional Chinese medicine comprehensive treatment are somatic symptoms, indexes variation and the size of solid tumor. The effective link of traditional Chinese medicine treatment for the advanced colorectal cancer is the combination of complex intervention measures and individual therapy, and the best experience is treatment based on syndrome differentiation Decoction. Psychology and family support for the therapy are the influencing factors. The patients’expectation to curative effect and doctor-patient communication run through the treatment of the entire process.Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine Comprehensive treatment is the main therapy for the advanced, elderly and weak colorectal cancer patients. It is evidenced that clinical therapy has obtained curative effects and beneficial treatment experiences, thus, the traditional Chinese medicine Comprehensive treatment is effective.
