And there was summarized to introduce the type and the rage of clinical applications of the contemporary fire needle.Considering to the invention and use of fire from the ancient times, the application of the Stone needle therapy, the age of the Huangdi Neijing, the origin of nine classical needle, the development of ancient Chinese smelting needle technology, and the historic medical books for fire needle therapy literature, the origin and development of the fire needle were explored by to analysis these factors.Finally, from the literature review, it can see that the fire needle therapy has been used in internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics and ENT. And the contraindication of the fire needle was broken. More comprehensive summary and specifications were made for fire needle. In addition, the common accident situations and deal with methods of modern fire needle were summarized.Fire needle therapy is unique to Chinese medicine. It is highly practical, advanced nature. The fire needle therapy at the cradle of the Stone era, originated in the late Warring States, forming vigorously the development and promotion in the Western Han Dynasty, the Tang and Song dynasties, the Ming and Qing dynasties to reach maturity peak, clear in the late gradual decline.3. The fire needle therapy is a treatment which combined with the good effect of acupuncture and stone needle therapy.4. The fire needle therapy may be an important or preferred treatment method for dermatology5.
