Toads is processed from secretory substance of parotid glands and skin glands of toad, a traditional Chinese medicine. Toads have been mainly used for detoxification, detumescence, strong heart and decrease of pain. From the modern pharmacology study, toads contain a number of pharmacological ingredients and have been used for anti-cancer, improvement of cardiovascular function, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial effect. It is a potential drug for clinical use in Chinese traditional medicine. At present, the drug resistance of strains of E. coli is more serious in pig industry, application of antibiotics are limited, the development of new antibiotics is very important. In view of this reason, the development of traditional Chinese medicine with little side effect and without drug resistance has the good development prospect. The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of toad injection solution on treatment of infection of Escherichia coli in pig.(1)The protective test that toads injection act on artificial infection pathogenic E.coli in piglets of.(2)The therapeutic test that toads injection act on natural infection pathogenic E.coli in piglets of.(3) Animals regression test was performed by using isolated bacteria from piglets of naturally infected pathogenic E.coliThe results show that:(1)The high and mid-dosage toads injection have good curative effect on white scour of piglet infected by natural pathogenic E.coli.;(2)The high and mid-dosage toads injection could protect body from being infected by artificial infection of pathogenic E. coli.;(3) Toads injection could remarkably promote the rate of masculine T lymphocyte and proliferation of CD4+cell;(4) Toads injection could be used to prevent piglets infecting E.coli at dose of0.1ml/kg by intramuscular injection once a day for3days;(5)Toads injection be used to treat piglets infected with E.coli, the commendatory dosage is0.1ml/kg by intramuscular injection twice a day for3days.
