The research on the scanning motion is meaningful as it is a main factor which affects the attack efficiency of the intelligent mine and terminal sensing ammunition. In this paper, the adaptive steady-state scanning mechanism widely applied in terminal sensing ammunition is studied. This mechanism realizes its function through the special structure and aerodynamic force without the assistant of parachutes and wings. The main contributions of this paper are as follows:The scanning mechanism is designed based on the dynamic characteristics of the bullets and rockets. The rigid motion differential equations are established under the analysis of asymmetric rigid motion. By use of the forth order Runge-Kutta method, the program is made to solve these equations in MATLAB. Then, the correctness of the mechanism is verified with the comparison between the solution of the equations and the simulation with ADAMS.The parameters including structural parameters, dynamic parameters and kinetic parameters may affect the scanning motion, which also are analyzed for the optimization in next step. The simplified equation of the aerodynamic parameters is presented based on the influence of inertial moments and product, the CM (center of mass) position and initial speed on the performance of the scanning mechanism.According to mechanical optimization theory and requirements of initial parameter of intelligent mine, a novel approach is presented to optimize the structure of the intelligent mine. The dynamic simulation of the intelligent mine is performed with the optimized model established in3D software. The results indicate the design is effective.
