Drawing lessons from the advanced design ideas of AHEAD ammunition, a new airdefense weapon was developed to arm AH-64D helicopter.Firstly, through the analysis of vulnerability for the AH-64D, the thickness of key targetwas replaced by equivalent thickness. According to attenuation characteristic of fragmentsspeed in the air and limit speed of penetration test, the specifications of fragments wasdetermined. With LS_DYNA simulation software, the arrangement of pre-fragment wasresearched to scattering properties and spatial distribution, at the same time dynamic openingprocess of projectile was simulated. According to the simulation result, the uniformdislocation arrangement was used for improving pre-fragment speed and effect of axialorientation. On the basis, the structure of the76mm orienting prefab grenades was designed;Secondly, according to the exterior ballistics, the speed and the spatial distribution density ofpre-fragments were calculated for providing the best fit of the fuse and warhead at differentdistance, Finally, the kill probability model was established with Monte Carlo method and killprobability was calculated by C++language. The results show that: the kill probability oforienting pre-fragment projectile of76mm for AH-64D nomonotonic changes with the range,at first, the kill probability increases with the increase of the range and reaches maximum at adistance, then the kill probability gradually decreases. The specific calculation result is that:the damage probability gets its max0.506at the range1500m. These design and calculationresults provide technical basis for development of anti-aircraft ammunitions.
