From the view of bionics, this paper researches and develops a new Biosonar detection device by means of modern electronics. The device introduced in this paper is mainly used by blind people, it can also be utilized in other areas. The first chapter mainly introduces research with mobile aids at home and abroad. With the support of NSFC, this work proposes a new model of Biosonar detection device, which emits biological sonar signal to the outside world to detect the distance information、orientation information and shape information in front.Bats acquire accurate position information and shape information of the object by emitting sonar signal. After analyzing and dealing with such information, bats can successfully avoid the obstacle and capture prey. Based on this theory, the design of this detection device mainly consists of two parts. The first part is a sonar head which is composed by the driver circuit and the three ultrasonic transducers. This part mainly performs the function of biological sonar signal emission and the front-end data acquisition. The second part which is the core design of this paper is divided into three modules, the master control module based on FPGA, the data processing module based on DSP6000and power module. Master control module, DA converter and one ultrasonic transducer are linked to complete Biosonar signal emission to outside world. Master control module, AD converter and other two ultrasonic transducers are linked to acquire data from the reflected signal. FPGA makes a pre-treatment to these data and structures two FIFO to realize high-speed data transmission to DSP6000though EDMA. DSP6000makes a deeper processing and then outputs audio to humans’ear by earphone. People can perceive surroundings by analyzing the audio information that he hears. At the mean time, this design also expands the function of video acquisition and output. Therefore, the system can realize1D audio signal processing and2D graphics information processing by upgrading the software.Tests with this detection device indicate higher SNR, better detection range and detection Angle. The separation of controller from the processor make a better progress to the overall performance of the system. Therefore, this system not only has powerful control ability to data and coordination ability to other chips, but also has a high-speed data transmission and processing ability. Compared to the mobile aids that have already existed in the market, this system’s performance is obviously improved.The findings may provide a certain reference for Biosonar detection and mobile aids.
