Prevention approaches of the gun accident have been discussed and explored by many experts, technicians and operators for a long time. Time-consuming, manpower-wasting and costly, the traditional regular maintenance has a poor feasibility in the battlefield and cannot avoid accidents thoroughly. Even the most experienced technicians also may not be reliable all the time. A technique of state-diagnosis of the gun combined with traditional methods is practicable. It can discover the hidden indications from the inconspicuous symptoms outside and provide useful information instantaneously. Meanwhile, it can also protect people nearby and provide reference for correction maintenance combined with another technique called emergency treatment. The technique of state-diagnosis and emergency treatment of the gun is worthy of being study and may definitely play an active role in peacetime and wartime.Firstly, we research on the state monitoring of the gun. Monitoring goals, physical parameters, monitoring theories and methods are ascertained based on its constitution.Secondly, fault analyses of the traditional gun have been discussed. We can obtain ordinary modes and their exact positions by researching on common faults. Taking advantage of thories of fault analysis, we can also achieve the effects, the time and associations of different faults. Fault mechanisms are analyzed and functions are found by making use of a mathematical model of a typical component. Computer programs are made to simulate mechanisms and effects of fault modes. Charts are also plotted by the computer to get more observations and analyses in detail.Thirdly, the state-diagnosis of the gun is researched. We study the theories and the basic methods of it, explore their availabilities and also analyze advantages/disadvantages of different diagnoses, so as their extent of applications. Moreover, examples are made to verify the feasibility of the methods and to discover some experience and regularities of them.Finally, a suggestion of downgrade use and emergency treatment of the gun is made. A flow chart is plotted for the purpose of limitations of the diagnosis technique alone. With theoretical implications grasped and feasible approaches taken, we project a module of the emergency treatment unit of downgrade use and its basic functions as it is needed. The propositions stated above also provide a means for the safety and reliablity of the gun.The study shows that the technique of the state-diagnosis and emergency treatment of the gun supplys a feasible reference method to the use and maitainance of it.
