Being a new type of spectral modulation instrument, DMD-based Hadamard transformspectral imaging technology has several advantages such as multi-channel detection, highsignal to noise ratio, high radiation flux and so on. Hadamard transform spectral imagerachieves Hadamard transform by spatial light modulator. This spectral modulation technologyis widely used in the weak spectral image analysis. This paper introduces a new type ofHadamard transform spectral imager and the research on real-time spectral recoverytechnology.In this paper, spectral imaging technology, especially Hadamard transform spectral imagingtechnology and real-time processing techniques have been described. The author describedthe spectral imaging instruments’ application in the various fields and the role of nationaleconomic construction. It also introduced the research and progress in Hadamard transformoptics.This paper introduced a new Hadamard transform spectral imager and described thereal-time spectral recovery circuit with FPGA which had high digital signal processingperformance. As a data processing platform, the performance parameters of the parts of thecircuit were introduced.This paper described the spectral recovery algorithm of Hadamard transform spectralimager and achieved this algorithm with hardware description language. Through thefunctional simulation and timing simulation, we found that the algorithm program and thecontrol timing were correct. In the experiment, we connected the data processing circuit tocomputer by UART interface and achieved data transmission between them by EDK. Thewhole experiment was divided into three parts: sending data from computer to the dataprocessing circuit, data processing, computer receiving data from the data processing circuit.The experiment step by step would be helpful for us to analyze the problems in the wholeprocess. This paper obtained recovery images, synthesized a false color image by recoveryimages, obtained spectral curve and compared the results obtained by software and hardware.This paper found the problems of experimental results, found the cause of the problems byanalysis and solution. We obtained the results of improved algorithm and we compared andanalyzed them. Finally, we gave a conclusion.
