Water is one of the most important resources in nature, and is the basic conditions for human. Related statistics shows that water resources per capita is less than300m3in Beijing, and just is1/8of the national’s water resources per capita, and just is1/30of the all world’s water resources per capita. Beijing has become one of the cities with serious water shortage aroud the world. Urban residents’domestic water demand has a growth trend in Beijing in the past few years, and it become the largest part of the structure of water demand in Beijing. Domestic water demand have an important influence on maintainning the balance of water supply in Beijing in the future.The paper draw on the Zhou Changqing’s study in2003. The questionnaire about urban residents’living water is designed by according to the changes in the design of Beijing in recent years, and paper conducted a survey to establish an electronic database. By analyzing the database, paper drow that the structure of family, the appliances of household water, and the awareness of water conservation of family have an important influence on the urban residents’domestic water consumption in Beijing.By the stepwise regression analysis method, paper establish regression model, which is:y=36.524x1+16.592x2+17.256x3-15.346x4+1.494x5-25.210X6-25.562x7+116.787y is the household per capita daily water consumption, x1is the main drinking water way, x2is the total household income, x3is the number of more water consumption appliances, x4is the number of total household, x5is the number of weekly baths on summer, x6is the attitude to take water conservation measures, x7is toilet can be sub-file or not. By compared with the previous study, paper find that the standard of living of urban residents in Beijing significantly improved during the past ten years, and their domestic water demand improved too; Total household income, total household population, educational level, the ratio of hand washing, the number and the type of toilet have been playing an important effect on the domestic water demand.
