Faced with the problem of resource shortages and environment pollution, fuel vehicles are facing very serious challenges as a traditional transport. The future automotive industry standards should be low power, low noise, and zero pollution. Electric Vehicle has opened up a new way to solve the problem of resources and pollution, and has become the development trend of the automotive industry, followed by the situation of the times. At present, the main influencing factors of the electric vehicle application include safety and cost of the battery. To extend the battery life is one of effective ways to lower utility costs. In order to ensure good performance of the battery and extend the battery life, batteries must be reasonable and effective management and control.Distributed lithium battery management system is divided into the control board and the monomer control board that they are used in two different microcontroller of the Freescale MC9S08series. Then according to the function of battery management system to design, produce and debug the circuit. The main function modules of the circuit board include a controller module, data acquisition modules, voltage isolation module, power module, serial communication module, and so on. Controller and data acquisition module collect and process the required signals, and then transmit data by the serial communication module.Firstly, this paper introduces the background and content of the subject, and analysis the overall structure and functional requirements of the distributed battery management system carefully. Secondly, it divided the function module of system hardware circuit and analysis and explores the details of the circuit design and implementation. Thirdly, it briefly introduces the various factors affecting the characteristics of the battery and the SOC estimation method. Finally, distributed lithium battery management system achieves the function of the circuit modules by writing the software program.
