Carrying a key component of many engineering devices, the security issue ofwire rope has been concerned all the time. In the process of operation,wire rope’stension and it’s changes rope is an important factor of affecting the safety. Subsidizedby Ph.D. in Higher Specialized Research Fund, the research and development of thewire rope tension line, real-time, quantitative detection of practical techniques anddetection systems, to detect the tension of wire rope during the operation and itschanges, and improve the safety rope provide the basis for evaluation.The structural characteristics of the subject based on the analysis of wirerope.Using of magnetoelectricity conversion technology for steel wire strands of wavesignal, established the mathematical model of the relationship between the wire ropetension and deformation of wave signal before and after changing quantity. On thebasis of the theoretical study, this paper development non-contact rope tension testsystem. Include the tension detector, signal conditioning circuit and data acquisitionsystems and virtual instrumentation software.Tension wire rope tension detector test based on the design principles,detectioncircuit components used linear Hall circuit; Design a regulate circuit to putambassador signal to the requirements and scope of the data acquisition card; Dataacquisition system uses the PXI bus technology-based multifunction data acquisitioncard, realizing the data acquisition and d/a change.Virtual instrument software system is a combination of virtual instruments andpowerful computing capability and other features and intuitive design, usingLabVIEW graphical programming language, implementation of data analysis andprocessing. Combination of database technology, LabVIEW and Microsoft Accessdatabase will be connected to a database management system developed, achievereal-time data storage, query, delete, etc. functions.The development of the steel wire tension test system is stable and reliable, easy to operate, friendly interface, automation degree higher, and so on. Based on thevirtual instrument technology not only save the cost of hardware development, butalso the user can easily control the testing process on the system and can modify eachfunction at any time. The whole system can be modified and expand, making itsuitable for different testing needs.
