Aiming at the reliability of Chain Tool Magazine and Manipulator which is one of the key functional units of Combined Machine Center., some research are been done in the background of National Science and Major Project "high-grade CNC machine tool and basic manufacturing equipment", including analyzing the influence factors of reliability, constructing the reliability test system platform, doing comprehensive performance test, and studying the performance degradation on the basis of test data and multi-state system reliability theory. The result of research is of certain significance for design improvement, use and maintenance of similar domestic Chain Tool Magazine and Manipulator.This paper takes MDH80Tool Magazine and Manipulator as research object which is mechanical, electrical and pneumatic integration system. Firstly, FMECA and FTA method are used in failure analysis of object to obtain the combinational relationships of reliability factors, and put forward the assistant testing approach to corresponding failures, provide scientific evidence for the implement of reliability test and comprehensive performance test; Secondly, the basic contest and procedure of reliability test for Chain Tool Magazine and Manipulator are made in this paper, including equipment composition of test system in which comprehensive performance test is more important and performance test software design based on VB, Thirdly, comprehensive performance test is made in different level of influence factors such as load, rotate speed of tool magazine, rotate speed of manipulator, exhaust pressure of air compressor, to detect and analysis the performance parameters including vibration of tool magazine, acceleration of manipulator, current of electromotor, pressure of pneumatic cylinder, and put forward relevant reliability growth measures, Lastly, failure analysis based on two-state is development to multi-state according to test data of reliability test and performance test, construct performance state distribution function using multi-state system reliability theory as Markov chain and UGF, and asses the reliability of Tool Magazine and Manipulator with this function and performance index demand of tool changing time T and vibration velocity V give before.
