Farmland improvement promotes farmland divination balance, has an important value on regional social economic development. Owing to the continuous technology progress of EIA and interrelated science, the gradually strength of environmental management in recent years, the problem of technical guidelines for EIA, industry characteristics not outstanding, appears day after day. Thus, according to regional characteristics, to establish a rational, scientific, feasible ecological impact assessment index system of farmland improvement has an important significance on the local ecological environment.Through the data collection, field investigation, expert consultation, and monitoring methods of literature study and other methods, this paper analyzed the mechanism of the ecological impact caused by farmland improvement, divided the ecological impact of soil, water, land use. biological production ability four subsystems, four subsystems; were selected in the application of chemical fertilizer. organic matter content of strength, water demand, farmland water, land utilization coefficient back, biomass, farming, vegetation types eight indexes was set up in the econstruction of the coastal farmland ecological impact assessment index system. According to the analysis of total hierarchy ordering, the core index one by one is)rganic matter content (weight0.370), the application of chemical fertilizer intensity weight0.185) and farmland retire water (weight0.177). Therefore, in EIA of such (?)inds of projects after, we should give prominence to the main characteristic factor of he identification, the evaluation, the monitoring, etc.This paper took coastal farmland improvement of sheyang as an example, verified the eliability and direction of the index system. Before improvement, the eco-environinental uality comprehensive index was1.088, while after farmland improvement, this value of the tudy area raised to1.325.The results showed that:soil, water, land utilization and the mpact of the biological production were all improved by way of farmland nprovement, which could prove that farmland improvement of this study area was cientific and feasible, simultaneously, through case studies we could conclude that ie ecological impact assessment methods of farmland improvement was feasible.
