Straightening roller is one of the most important components of the rollerstraightening device. It is the direct stress component which make the plateoccur plastic deformation during the process of straightening. But because ofthe high pressure working conditions and itself quality problem it often appearthe following failure forms which including crack, peeling, fracture, etc. All ofthis failure forms not only affect the products quality, shorten service life,increase the repairing costs, but also reduce the efficiency of production andcaused huge economic losses. So study the failure of straightening roller hasgreat significance for the improvement of the product quality, reducing theconsumption of the straightening roller and increasing the productionefficiency.In this paper, it firstly introduced the failure modes, the failure mechanismand analyzed the general failure law of the straightening roller.And then, based on the ANSYS/LS-DYNA to simulate the process ofplate-straightening; analyze the stress field of straightening roller in theLS-PrePost; focus on the failure effect research of the plate width, thickness,bending and the head contact angle; and then calculate the fatigue life ofstraightening roller by the law of miner linear cumulative damage.The failure of straightening roller is caused by many uncertainty factors.So, based on the probability design method of finite element, analyze theimpaction of all these uncertain factors that including straightening rollermaterial properties, geometry, mechanical stress to the reliability ofstraightening roller. The results showed that the material yield strength andstress state is the biggest factor to the reliability of straightening roller.In short, this paper based on the failure mechanism of straightening roller,the reliability analysis, the straightening roller’s stress field distribution to findout the concrete measures that can improve the reliability of the straighteningroller and prolong the fatigue life of straightening roller. |
