With the development of geographic information system technology, Computer3D modeling and display technology has become a hot topic of geographic information field research, development, and application, widely used in resource investigation, land management, city planning and other related filed. Meanwhile, with the development of data acquisition technology, it is easily to get3D data which can describe the model of geometric characteristics accurately.Large point cloud visualization is an important problem of three-dimensional GIS research. Combining with the current development, this paper do research and analysis to the problem of displaying real time image. The main work is as follows:(1) Based on the study of data characteristics and the actual model, with the data of different amount show the contradiction from the display efficiency and effect, the paper provides solution to the problem of image real-time display from data management and dispatch.(2) Data preprocessing. Based on the comparison of the KD-tree, Quad tree, octree and some other data organization method, the paper use the method of different synchronization partition with horizontal and vertical coordinates in order to construct quad tree model.(3) Dynamic data updating display. In order to call different LOD models according to viewpoint position and reduce one-time processing data amount in real-time visualization, this paper establish proper index mechanism, provides the basis to data dynamic scheduling and display.(4) System function design and implementation. Realize multi-level display, drag updating display, extract coordinate with mouse click and other functions under the MFC framework.
