With global warming and climate abnormal phenomenon aggravating, the research of global climate change has become the focus of geographical science. Recently40years, northwestern China appeared the facts of climate change by warm and dry to warmer and wetter, and xinjiang is the most obvious area in the northwest. Xinjiang has the unique geographical position and weak ecological environment, so it is very sensitive to climate change. For the current climate fluctuation and future climate change, agriculture is one of the most sensitive departments. The requirements of the crops on climate changes with the crop development stages, the crop level of adaption to climate in the different growth stages reflected the value of crop climate adaptability, therefore it is necessary to quantitatively study crop growth adaptation on the environment especially climate change. This study not only of vital importance for the further understanding climate change of China’s inland arid zone rule, more important is that it has a direct impact on agricultural production and development of xinjiang, and it also has the close relation to the economic development of xinjiang. It is used12sites in the south and north of Tian Mountain from1959to2007in this paper on the high daily temperature、low daily temperature、daily average temperature、daily precipitation、daily sunshine duration and etc. This paper analyzed the climate change characteristics on the north and south of Tian Mountain in recent50years and the value of climate change adaptation on cotton in different growth stages. To look for scientific and reasonable suggestions and countermeasures about cotton production adaption to climate change, based on meteorological data processing and analysis, we understand the basic climate change characteristics on the north and south of Tian Mountain, then choose suitable models for cotton production adaption climate change, using models to calculate the cotton adaption value on climate change in different growth stages, considering the regional differences of cotton adaption values on climate change, we come up with the relevant countermeasures and suggestions. The conclusions are as followings:1.The climate change characteristics on the south and north of Tian Mountain:the climates in the north and south of Tian Mountain become warm and wet significantly, the trend of sunshine durations reduces significantly, and the trend in the north of Tian Mountain is even more significant.2.The choice of cotton models:using the models of temperature, moisture, sunshine, total and ecological adaption values to calculate cotton production in the north and south of Tian Mountain adaptation to climate change.3.Contrast of cotton production adaption value on climate change:the temperature, moisture, total adaption values increased in the north and south of Tian Mountain, the sunshine adaption values reduced and the ecological adaption values in the north of Tian Mountain increased, the south of Tian Mountain decreased.Overall, cotton production in the north of Tian Mountain affected by climate change is more obvious, climate fluctuation is more apparent than the south of Tian Mountain.
