Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is one of the important technologiesof the modern society. Many countries around the world are working to develop theirown navigation system. There are more and more navigation satellite systems, whilethe navigation frequency band resources are very limited, which inevitably will causeinterference. This brings us to the GNSS compatibility. Meanwhile, the modernnavigation requires higher precise, and the environment is often very complicated, sowe need integrated use of two or more navigation system to enhance the navigationperformance. In this way, interoperability between the GNSS systems has become oneof the important considerations. This paper based on the new modulation signals, considering the compatibilityand interoperability of GNSS. Analyze the interference of electromagnetic signals inthe receiver and the expression of the signal to noise plus interference power ratio(SNIR). According to the relationship between SNR and CNR, we derive thecarrier-to-noise ratio, and take this to be one of the compatibility assessment standards.Improve the GNSS compatibility assessment methods, built GNSS compatibilityemulation platform to carry out the simulation of the GNSS compatibility in the L1band.From the construction of signal models and constellations of GNSS, we analyzethe GNSS interoperability. According to the number of visible satellites, the dilution ofprecision, and navigation accuracy, find the balance of GNSS compatibility andinteroperability, and give our own views in the construction of signal models andconstellations of GNSS. The research of compatibility and interoperability between theCOMPASS and other systems means a lot to our development of the navigation system. It could support us to fight for the greatest interests of our country as much as possibleof worldwide.
