Research On Problems Of Landless Peasants’ Social Security Under Urbanization In China

The accelerated pace of urbanization in China, resulted in a large special social group, the landless peasants. Urbanization is the objective law of development of human society. However, urbanization has brought forward unprecedented impact on a large number of peasants and has promoted the progress of economy of the city at the same time.With the acceleration of urbanization process, it is inevitable that a large number of agricultural lands have been requisitioned to meet needs of the socio-economic development. Due to blurred land ownership, dual socio-economic structure, imperfect laws and regulations, and some other reasons, the farmers lost their land, and also lost the land related rights and interests, but the social security system of the landless peasants has not been established. The number of peasants who are "landless, unemployed, no guarantees" is increasing, and many kinds of problems and contradictions are growing more intense, which has aroused wide attention. Settling the problems of landless peasants, especially the social security ones in a proper way, is the concrete embodiment of "people-oriented", and establishing and implementing the scientific concept of development comprehensively. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the social security of landless peasants.In this paper, did research on problems of landless peasants’social security in China, and compared the existing social security systems of landless peasants in Nanhai, Jiaxing, and Wuhu, used related experiences of England as a source of reference, and put forward some suggestions to build a social security system for the landless peasants.
