Locke’s liberal ethical thought is not only provided a strong theoretical guidance for the Western community to break the feudal cage, but also laid the foundation for the development of liberalism after the entire Western.The main features of his thoughts is always be tolerance instead of the extremes, take the progressive development of the road between radical and conservative conflict keep the site of faith between the battle of rational and faith. his ethical thinking still has a very important reference value in how to keep the balance between rapidly advancing the modernization of society, and to strengthen the social and moral construction In the current period of social transformation.This article start with the background of the times and cultural traditions to examine the origin of Locke’s liberal evolution of ethical thought.The second part discusses liberalism Ethics Philosophical Foundations: investigated the source of moral principles, and draw moral principles is not talent but can be perceived conclusion, Locke believes that as a philosophical core, a division of moral philosophy,based should be reasonable and sturdy, so he proceed from the theory of natural law and the will of God, to find a rational basis for his ethical thought.The third part is the introduction of the Locke liberal Ethics of:1. Locke believed that moral good and evil, depending on the nature of people to pursue happiness and avoid suffering, advocating the immediate well-being and long-term real happiness, personal interests and the community as a whole interests combination, the pursuit of the maximum happiness;2. understanding of good and evil according to moral, ethical behavior are subject to the jurisdiction of the court", we must look at their compliance with the law, but also depends on whether by conscience from the meaning of the Act, stressed that he give own legislation and moral law based on the theory of moral relations;3. freedom is the theme of ethical thought in Locke, Locke negate the traditional "freedom of the will, freedom into action, that man is free actors, and the pursuit of happiness freedom of the person is closely related.The fourth part is to analyze Locke how to create a good society and government in order to protect the people are free to the idea of the pursuit of happiness.
