Chinese nation has a long history. In the long history of the development, she has left a rich cultural heritage. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty, China has the custom to collect folk songs. The Book of Songs as China’s first poetry collection, of which there are records of folk songs. No doubt, China is one of the nations who earliest concerned the intangible cultural heritage. But in the long feudal rule and tortuous process of modernization, intangible cultural heritage was overlooked or even destroyed, because of the economic backwardness and concepts closed and other factors. When entering the modern society, especially in the last two decades, with the strengthening of the sense of national culture, the government attaches particular importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage and rescued many cultural heritage which are in danger of disappearing. However, due to the impact of modern civilization, a lot of intangible cultural heritage is also facing a new survival dilemma, which requires more unremitting efforts of cultural workers and the community.Meanwhile, since the reform and opening-up, the exchange of China and the world have been increasing. In1970s, China restored the activities of UNESCO, and in2004joined the " Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage ".China’s intangible cultural heritage protection work has finally embarked on the platform of international exchange.Lots of positive and negative experiences are worth learning to broaden our horizons from the international community.Cultural space is also known as cultural sites.
