As the important content of social cognitive research, theory-of-mind (TOM) isan area of much concern among developmental psychologist for a long time. In thelife-span perspective opinion, children’s TOM will develop after the period of whichthey gain first-order false belief. Most of the Children with learning disability havesocial cognitive impairment, but the study of their development of theory-of-mindwhich is an important content of social cognitive research is seldom. So the relevantstudy can contribute to explore the development characteristics of theory of mind,and provide advices on the education of the children with learning disability.This study select learning disabilities children and normal children by the generallearning disability screening criteria, implements first-order false belief task,second-order false belief task, interpretive theory of mind task and faux pas task,compares the results of the differences between two groups of children,and comes tothe following research conclusions:(1) Learning disabilities children’s development of four TOM order,aresignificantly worse than normal children,especially first-order false belief andsecond-order false belief;(2) The two group children have the same development characteristics of the fourTOM order;(3) The first-order false belief understanding is the foundation of thesecond-order false belief understanding, the second-order false belief is thefoundation of faux pas understanding.
