This is a translation project based on A Systematic Approach to TeachingInterpretation written by Danica·Seleskovitch and Marianne·Lederer. The translationreport mainly deals with the second chapter of the book: Consecutive Interpretation,which discusses both the underlying principles and practical skills of note-taking withthe support of plenty of concrete examples.The report consists of five parts. The first chapter is an introduction to both theobjectives and significance of this translation project. In the second chapter, theauthor of this report gives a description of the background of this report including theinformation of the authors and analysis of the original text from the perspective oflanguage style, sentence pattern and its influences. The third chapter contains theunderlying theory of the translation project, the Interpretive Theory of Translation. Inthis chapter, a series of basic concepts related to the theory is observed in order toclearly explain this theory. The fourth chapter is given to the discussion of obstacleshampering the translation, for example,several complex sentences and technicalterms appeared in the text and approaches taken to tackle these problems such asaddition, literary translation, free translation and so on. The fifth chapter is a summary of enlightenments drawn from this report as well as defects in the translation report.
