Lacquer art in the Warring States period became the first prosperity in the history ofChinese lacquer because of its large output, variety, exquisite quality, which was much morethan the previous generation. Most of the excavated Warring States lacquers are from the Chutomb. Therefore, the Chu lacquer ware is a representative of the Warring States periodlacquer.In the Chu lacquer ware of the Warring States period, phoenix is a most common art image,which was the leading role in decoration.
