One Research About The Interaction Between The Living And The Dead In The Rites Of Funeral

This paper is mainly about the rites of funeral in a Han village Guangjiatian in Guangxi province, based on the belief of Animism and through a thick description of Guangjiatian’s funeral rites, The author analyses the classification system and the rites,the blur boundary between sacred and secular rites.The funeral rites reflect not only the villagers’hopes for living, but also the understanding about the death,once they were dead where would they go. The funeral rites are a kind of dialogue between the person alive and the soul of the dead,and it is a communication of Yin Yang between emotion and fantasy, but the medium connecting the living and the dead is the offspring of the dead.In the paper, the funeral activities will be described in detail and classified simply. The complex funeral rites can be divided into two parts:The first part is the sacred rites related to the dead; And the second is the secular rites related to the living,but this paper will mainly expound the former. In addition, the power of the sacred rites supporting the interaction between the living and dead is the force of the blood and the belief.This paper consists of six parts,the first chapter is the Introduction as the foundation of the whole paper,which is composed of four parts:the origin of this topic, research review, research value and research methods. The second part describes the humanistic, geography and economic environment of the village. The third part describes from the macro perspective about the village’s special funeral rites, especially the main procedures of the local funeral rites, the work arrangements and taboos in the funeral rites, all of these pave the way for the gist of this article. The forth part, summarized the sacred rites in the whole funeral rites, is a further summary of the third part of the article and the topic of this paper. The fifth part corresponds with the title of this article, which explains the interaction between the living and the dead, from the funeral aspect and funeral way. The sixth part is the conclusion of this paper, which proposes the argument of this paper on the whole. The blood and the belief are not only the sources of the main force behind funeral rites, but also the base that people divide all funeral activities into two portions(the sacred and the secular).
