| "The scholars" is a novel describing the social life of the Qing Dynasty, which was written in the first half of the eighteenth century. This period is the important stage of modern Chinese transformation to modern Chinese and the language in the book can fully reflect the social language features and characteristics. So it is very important to specifically do a language research on the book.Mainly regarding significance and differences of expressing degree as standards, this paper points out sixty-four degree adverbs from "The scholars". On the basis, the author makes a detailed statistics on the distribution of each degree adverb frequency. At the same time, the author makes a list of syntatic component about these degree adverbs. According to different modifier, the author gives a classifiable description and a list of statistics, mainly including verb, adjective, noun, verb-object phrase, adverbial-center phrase, complement-center phrase, subject-predicate phrase, prepositional phrase and so on. Finally, the author one by one discusses characteristics of degree adverb and modifier syllable combination, suitable sentence type as well as degree adverb with other adverbs used situation.This paper mainly adopts check book and computer retrieval methods, describing the64degree adverbs in detail in the book with the static description, list of statistics and other methods and systematically showing the panorama of degree adverb in "the scholars". |
