Study On "Zhidao"-category Verbs In Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language Based On Error Analysis

Verbs are always of great importance in Chinese learning for foreign students. As a subclass of psychological verbs,"zhidao"-category verbs are used frequently with many mistakes, making them difficult to learn. According to the actual situation of teaching Chinese as foreign language, this thesis selects seven commonly-used words "liaojie","lijie","renshi","zhidao","mingbai","dong","dongde" as research objects.In terms of the research on misusing of verbs, scholars often study the errors from the aspect of grammar, mainly the position of the verbs. This thesis attempts to study the error of "zhidao"-category verbs in perspective of lexics and semantics.This thesis has collected a large quantity of linguistic data from different corpuses, and described the types of misusing from two perspectives:semantics and syntax. Then, the tiny differences between these seven verbs are analyzed, following by teaching methods. The thesis is mainly divided into the following four parts:First part:Introduction. The reason of the writing, results which have been raised by experts, the scheme of research and choice of corpus are included in this part.Second part:This part is to describe the types of misusing in detail during the process of learners acquiring these seven verbs from the point of view of both the semantic and syntactic analysis.Third part:Based on the former content, clear discriminations between the most confusing synonyms are given, as well as practical teaching strategies:focusing on collocations and context. When describing these two teaching strategies, the proper collocations which are used frequently by native speakers are listed, and an example of how to practise the method of Context Teaching is offered.Fourth part:A conclusion and review of the former content, and a possible further research plan on basis of this thesis are made in this part.
